About Pokemondex

What is Pokemondex?

Pokemondex is an independent fan-built Pokémon database covering all 1,350+ Pokémon across 9 generations. Every Pokémon page includes deep editorial content — biology and physical characteristics, behaviour and natural habitat, competitive battle guides, name and design origins, breeding information and more — alongside the full set of game data.

What you'll find here

  • Full Pokédex entries and flavour text from every main-series game
  • Base stats, EV yields and base experience for all Pokémon
  • Complete learnable move lists — level-up, TM, egg moves and tutor moves
  • Type effectiveness chart — weaknesses, resistances and immunities for all 18 types
  • Evolution chains and evolution conditions
  • Location encounter data by game version
  • Editorial sections: biology, behaviour, competitive battle guides, name & design origins

About the editor

Pokemondex is created and maintained by Paul Lovell, a lifelong Pokémon player. Paul has played Pokémon GO since launch and the core series across every Nintendo platform it has appeared on — the Game Boy (Red, Blue & Yellow), Game Boy Color (Gold, Silver & Crystal), Game Boy Advance (Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, FireRed & LeafGreen), Nintendo DS (Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold, SoulSilver, Black & White), Nintendo 3DS (X & Y, Omega Ruby, Alpha Sapphire, Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon) and the Nintendo Switch (Let's Go, Sword & Shield, Brilliant Diamond, Shining Pearl, Legends: Arceus and Scarlet & Violet).

He built Pokemondex to bring complete, accurate game data together with genuine editorial detail — competitive battle guides, biology, behaviour, design origins and a full Trading Card Game gallery for every Pokémon — in one place, refreshed as new games and Pokémon are released.
