Fast, frail, and allergic to Ground.
Electric is Pokémon's lightning type — almost always fast, almost always special, and with a single defining weakness (Ground) that dictates every teambuilding decision around it. Pairing an Electric sweeper with a Ground immunity like Flying, Levitate or Air Balloon is the first thing any competitive builder does.
Electric is a revenge-killer type. It thrives on speed and pivoting — Volt Switch lets Electric mons click a STAB attack and rotate out in one turn, generating free momentum. Rain teams weaponise Thunder (100% accuracy in rain) for 120 BP special nukes.
Thunderbolt is the default. Volt Switch is the best pivot move in the game. Wild Charge is the go-to physical option. Electro Ball scales with speed ratio — devastating on fast mons outspeeding walls.
Pikachu was originally designed to be the second-stage evolution of Pichu, not the first. Pichu was added retroactively in Gen 2 as a pre-evolution after Pikachu became the franchise mascot.
